Telecommunications data retention (aka Vorratsdatenspeicherung)

As more and more countries have implemented laws about Telecommunications data retention, I would like to share my thoughts about this. So Big Brother thinks they can stop Terrorism by the use of Telecommunications data retention. But it is so easy to communicate without leaving a trace. It’s possible for everyone with a PC and a Internet connection to act as a Phone company without being registered anywhere, without anybody knowing that you even exist.
You can buy phone numbers from every corner of the world, the server can also be in any corner of the world where some laws may or may not apply.
Let me explain this with an example. Bart and Homer are a evil Terror organization they are planing to blow something up. So Bart wants to call Homer and ask for some details about the Bomb. Let’s assume Big brother is only recording call details but not the call itself. So Bart calls an access number, this number is connected to a SIP Server (like asterisk).
Once connected to the server he enters Homers number, the server dials his number with a fake caller ID and deletes the CDR (call detail records) after the call. The call is being initiated via a company based in Germany (just an example) and the server with asterisk is somewhere else, let’s say in China.
So, what will data retention tell us after collecting all this data?

Bart has made a call to some number, it is unknown whom this number belongs to. The number has been bought through one of several legal DID Exchnage platforms on the net where you can pay with PayPal or Credit card (which could be stolen), to find out where the number was connected would take a lot of time.
- Ask the regulation agency, of the country the number belongs to, whom this number belongs
- Ask the company owning the number who bought the number from them and the IP of the server it was connected to.
After big brother has got this Data they would know that the number was connected to a server in China so the searching can begin once again.
- Ask the provider for Details about the owner of the server
- Ask for access to the server to search for CDR.
- No results where found since the server has been already cleaned up or destroyed etc etc.
On the other side, big brother knows Homer got a phone call on his cell, from a number in Namibia (which of course it’s fake)

So in the end, big brother knows nothing! Of course if they record the content of the call they could have some information but there are ways of avoiding this. Like using a Softphone on a laptop with mobile internet conected to the SIP server via VPN. There are so many ways and all you need is a creditcard, no ID, no personal data, nothing.

So the state is trying to convince us that their intention is to “protect” us? I mean come on, you don’t need to be a genius to come up with something like this.

Tocmai am primit asta prin mail, nu stiu exact sursa dar nu conteaza.

In orasul meu, inca o saptamana. Inca un weekend. A venit si toamna. Si
ploile. S-au tampit si mai tare cretinii in trafic. Dar daca saptamanile
trecute am avut parte doar de incidente periculoase care m-au facut sa
realizez ca pot sta linisita la stop si ma poate face un imbecil cu un
Audi praf, zilele trecute am avut parte si de ceva momente amuzante.
Joi am vazut o scena geniala

De la Podul Marasesti spre Budapesta, strada cu o singura banda
paralela cu linia de tramvai. In general, jmecherii merg pe linie.

De data asta, in fatza mea, o printzesa cu o mashinuta superba (imi
scapa marca, dar arata spectaculos), mergea ca toata lumea cu 2 km/h,
dar in stilul ei, cu cativa centimetri pe linia de tramvai, desi avea
loc o gramada in dreapta.

Apare si tramvaiul. Claxon. Inca unul. Inca unul.

Printzesa impasibila isi continua mersul de melc fara sa schitzeze macar
ca ar vrea sa elibereze linia sau ca, macar, ar interesa-o ca sta
tramvaiul dupa ea, ca asteapta oamenii. Ea vorbea la telefon si se dadea
cu gloss.

Momentul de senzatie s-a petrecut cand vatmanul si-a luat avant si i-a
zburat gratzios oglinda laterala! Ea, shocata, mai da si sa-si deschida
portiera si o infige in tramvai.

Incepe sa tzipe, sa-si intinda capul pe geam ca o lebada.

“*Nenorocitule! Te dau in judecata! Tu stii, ma, cat costa mashina
asta?*”

Vatmanul deschide si el usha lui si ii spune cu o voce ireal de calma:

“*Papushe, cauta-ma tu la depou, intreaba acolo de Nea Vasile. Si daca
nu iti dau io banii pe oglinda, poate iti dau baietzii o mue, sa mai
mergi si altadata pe linie, la misto”.

Blocaj total…

At least according to the mails I have just received, I have won one million at “Euro Millions” and then I have won a bit over 2 million at some spanish lottery, three times. Some 270.000 Euro more from the next lottery and if I will be so kind to allow “Mrs Kimba Adkowi” to send 15 Mil US$ to my account I can keep 25% so I now have something over 10Mil. Euro! niiiice

I am sure if I would read more mails from my spam folder I would become even richer Does this kind of scam still work? It’s really incredible how some people believe everything.

Ieri seara am fost dupa un Prieten la Airoport in Viena. Pe drum inapoi se opreste traficu si nu se mai misca nimica. Dupa catva timp stat am aflat ca sa Rasturnat un Autocar Romanesc care venea din Spania. Am ocolit accidentu si pe drum tot mai apareau Salvari, deci era clar ca ii destul de grav.
Mediafax.ro nu avea nici azi dimineata o informatie despre ce sa intamplat. Dupa ce a trimis prietenu care l-am luat de la airoport un mail la mediafax cu _link_ catre ziaru din austria cu ce sa intamplat, o aparaut si pe mediafax, dar cu putine erori de traducere care deja deforma putin realitatea. Dupa toate astea vine si ProTV si sa schimbat nr pasagerilor, numarul ranitilor si ca sa deformeze de tot realitatea, pune filmari din arhiva de la complet alt accident. Bravo ProTV. Imi pare rau ca nu m-am dus ieri sa vad ce firma de Autocar era ca acuma toata lumea crede alt ceva dupa ce au vazut filmarile respective.

Winter is here

As expected and announced on the news, it snowed last night till today. But as every year there are some idiots, especially lory drivers, that think they are king of the road and they don’t need winter tires. Well the result of this was, as most of the time when it snows, trucks get stuck, blocking the freeway, by this blocking the complete traffic and also the cars that should clean the snow. Since last night, the A21 was blocked, thousands (as far as I can remember from the news) of people blocked on the freeway. All trucks coming from eastern europe trying to go towards germany where also blocked. The freeway S1 was a big lory parking lot. With lorries parked on the first lane and on the emergency lane for about 4 km. I would give them huge fines to driver and to the company that owns the lorries. But it’s not only the lorry drivers, also car drivers are stupid.
Yes, you don’ have to have winter tires, but at least don’t be so fucking stupid to go anywhere with your car with summer tires if you see the huge snow amount on the street. If you where to fucking lazy to put on your winter tires in time, then leave your fucking car at home and use the public transport. I mean … it’s middle of november, when did you intend to put on your winter tires? March? April?

Bomb alarm in US embassy in Vienna

Today a man wanted to enter the US embassy in Vienna with a back pack which initiated an alarm while passing the metal detector. The man fled the scene and dumped the back pack on the street. The back pack was filled with explosive and nails which would have caused some damage. The man was captured and is now being interrogated by the police.

According to “derStandard” the CIA offered the Taliban (The Taliban (Pashto: طالبان ṭālibān, also anglicized as Taleban) are an extremist, terrorist, and ethnic fundamentalist Sunni Muslim Pashtun movement) participation in Afghan government, if they renounce to connections to Al Qaeda and other terroristic groups. Ok, let me think a minute, as they attacked Afghanistan, didn’t they want to free the people (besides trying to find Bin Laden)?

On October 7, 2001, the United States, aided by the United Kingdom, Canada, and supported by a coalition of other countries including several from the NATO alliance, initiated military actions in Afghanistan, code named Operation Enduring Freedom, and bombed Taliban and Al Qaeda related camps. The stated intent of military operations was to remove the Taliban from power because of the Taliban’s refusal to hand over Osama bin Laden for his involvement in the September 11 attacks, and disrupt the use of Afghanistan as a terrorist base of operations
