Bye bye 2008, hello 2009

So, 2008 is finally over. A new year, a new challenge, new ideas and lot’s of changes ahead, I think it will be a interesting year. But let me get back to the end of 2008.
This time we have been for a couple of days over Christmas in Romania and this usually means, food, food, more food and even more food. We survived this and returned back to Vienna before new year.
On the 31. we went to see the fireworks in Vienna which where fired from Prater. I usually like fireworks, I like looking at them but that’s about it. I hate firecrackers! The only thing they make is noise so I think they are kind of pointless.
But what I hate the most is firecrackers in the hands of idiots and unfortunately this year there where plenty of them.
The “bangs” started a few days before Christmas and there still are some “bangs” even these days. But the 31. Decembers was a nightmare. A lot of kids throwing one firecracker after the other, people throwing firecrackers where a lot of people are standing.
From my point of view they could forbid firecrackers completely.
But we survived this also, probably with a bit more damage to my hearing then I would want.

The first day from the new year started as a normal day until someone rang at the dor. Hmm… a fireman, what could be going on?
It seems like the neighbor upstairs called for the ambulance and then lost the connection. So Ambulance, Police and a couple of firemen came and wanted to enter her apartment from our balcony.
They succeeded to enter after breaking the glass of the balcony door just to find our upstairs neighbor drunk as hell on the floor.
Let’s see what else will happen this year :)

Time for some changes

sell_on_change.pngIt’s time for a big change and no we are not getting married! I am talking about my job. After some months of thinking this over I have decided to quit my job and do my own thing.

I know, you might think I am insane to quit something safe these days where a lot of IT companies are throwing people out but I had to finally take this step and give it a try.
So, what will I do from now on? Well first of all I have several projects to finish that I am already working on, Ruby on Rails development, Typo3 and some Asterisk things. Some new things are already waiting, so I can’t really complaint of getting bored and I can’t really manage all these things after work and on weekends so that is mainly the reason that I decided to quit.

So, if you are looking for some one to solve your problems, integrate a VoIP system, do some web development or a nice website just contact us (yes us, we both are working on similar things)

Little trip …

Due to some stupid planing or rather not planing, I had to pick something up, bring it somewhere else and get back to work again. Well, the result was a 60km trip trough Vienna. Did it in 1hour 15, seems pretty acceptable for me. If I add the 25km I made this morning from home to work and the 25 I will do from work to home … 110km without leaving the city.

One more year has passed

Yes, another year has passed and the last year has started before I change the age prefix. 30 … sounds so old :) I want to thank everybody that called to wish me all the best, and for those who haven’t called … well there is my wishlist where you can buy something so I will forgive you :)

I was just kidding of course. I really don’t judge anybody who forgot, how could I ? I forgot about every birthday. I just know the really really important ones, my family and my sweetest of course. There was no big party, just a small celebration. The big party was, as almost every year, at Woerthersee in Austria during the biggest VW Tuning event. Anyway, for those who still don’t know me … I don’t give much about fix days. I don’t need to get presents at my birthday I don’t necessary five presents at some ones birthday or other occasion where one would expect presents. The year has 365 days, at least most of the time, where you can give your loved ones something special?

Finally a message to my friends, Yes I do like Glenfiddich Single Malt, but please, next 5 years no more Glenfiddich, I have a collection of about 10 bottles! I should organize some big “Single Malt Party” so everybody can come and help empty the bottles.

Spring is here

Well at least last week it was …
