Thanks Billy for protecting us from Viruses

Oh isn’t this great! This is a old “feature” from outlook but today it once again pissed me off!
Since there are so many stupid users that click on everything they get via email, what does Microsoft do? They add a bug ( called feature at Microsoft ) so that “potential dangerous” file are hidden in outlook and you can’t open them.
So I had to sent such a baaaad file with a .cer extension ( certificate ) which actulay was just a simple text file with some rows of text in it ( a public key ) but hey … this could be such a bad virus so thanks Outlook for protecting me from virus, or rather from blocking me doing my work. But why complain? M$ is sooo much beter and M$ is sooo much cheaper then Linux and open source! yes yes .. the M$ financed study shows it black on white! Linux and OS and GPL is baaad!

Billy & Co ( especialy Steve Balmer ) I wish you die of a real painful death !

Hurray Spring woke up ( finally )

Winter is over! Oh how I waited for this day ( and many other people also )
Went outside for a walk, I was kind of forced to go outside, but didn’t regret it once I was out. The ice was melting, people where without winter jackets outside, and gues what … the sun was shining :)
Now what could make this day even better ? Right … 6 doughnuts :) This was also a good ocasion to take some pics while the shun is shining and here they are in my gallery

Stupid Microdrive

Great … after 6 months my great 4GB Hitachi Microdrive doesn’t work anymore!
I put it in my card reader, got some pics from it, put it back in the camera and that was it … no reaction anymore. Just some very strange sound. No mater where I connect it, if it’s the camera or the card reader. Good that I had a 512MB CF with me, is enough for some weekend pics.
But no way I will ever buy I Microdrive, I will try to see if hitachi wil change it, since I don’t have the original package anymore which Promarkt requests.
Anyway, It’s broken and in waranty and someone will have to come up with a replacement!
But I’m realy disapointed from the microdrive.

daily Webalizer stats in DTC

for all of you who are using DTC as controlpannel for your domains, me for my part hated it to wait a month for the webstats so I did a smal modification to create daily stats and with country lookup.
You can find my modifications in the DTC Forum

Finaly, rejected mails for unexistsing users

I think I had this small “problem” quite a long time. A few years I gues, actualy since I switched to Cyrus and this is quite a long time ago. 2002 maybee ?
Anyway I knew about that litle problem but it wasn’t so bad to put to much time in it and as I was trying the first time to fix it I had the problem that I didn’t know where to get the existing users from.
Oh… almost forgot to mention the smal problem I had. Postfix doesn’t know anything about the existing users from cyrus since there is no place where it should look for the users, only cyrus knows about it.
But since the switch to users in mysql this problem is solved, postfix can check the database to look for the users, so in main.cf change this value:

local_recipient_maps = $alias_maps, mysql:/etc/postfix/mysql-virtual.cf, mysql:/etc/postfix/mysql-accounts.cf

what this will do is check the alias_maps ( which I didn’t move to mysql, no time for this ) then check the aliases created by web-cyradm in mysql and the rest of the users created by web-cyradm and that’s all.
here is my account.cf

#
# mysql config file for alias lookups on postfix
# comments are ok.
#

# the user name and password to log into the mysql server
hosts = localhost
user =
password =

# the database name on the servers
dbname =

# the table name
table = accountuser

#
select_field = username
where_field = username
additional_conditions = and block = ‘0′

Lord of the (doughnut) rings

Mmm... DoughnutsHi, my name is Cris and I am adicted! … to doughnuts!
I think I could kill for some doughnuts, I don’t want to know what’s in them that makes me go mad when I only think about them. Not even coffe has this effect :) ok it’s not quite that bad but still I would eat them day and night… vitamins? pah … that’s something for looser! Real men live only from doughnuts, sure … not quite long, but they feel good their short life with soft doughnuts, covered in strawberry or chocolate … aaaaaaaaaa…..

Once again in Berlin

Here I am again, once again in Berlin, but this time I also have some minutes to write a blog and I also made some first fotos

and guess what! I also have internet and this already in the first week unbeleavable! T-Com was quite fast making the conection and the DSL itself I got from Manitu where I don’t have to make a one year contract.
Well looks like winter is still present in Berlin, and I think I’m the only one around already with somer tires on the car, but hey …. no risk no fun :)
snow ... lots of snow

One of the best things here in Berlin sure is Dunkin Donuts, god I love their doughnuts, they make adictive and I think desire also got stuck on them :)
This morning the first thing she sayd was “doughnuts”
I think I am already starting to mutate to Homer Simpson, only the duff beer is missing, but I thing “Heffe Wizen” will also do the trick.
ok but now enought about doughnuts, I am already starting to feal the need of them.
Lets get back to the nice city Berlin, got some nice shots at night from a litle bridge over the Spree near our apartment and also some nightshots from Potsdammer Platz.
Yesterday we also made a short trip to Checkpoint Charlie, and eneterd the “Mauer Museum” ( museum of the wall ), I tell you the place it much bigger then it looks like, so don’t get scared about the 9,50 € entrance. The bad news is that fotos where not allowed, so got no fotos from Mauer Museum.
After a big coffe we went of to the Siegessäule and that was about it for the first sightseeing day.
Now it’s time for some food and then doughnuts :)
